About me

You’ve stumbled onto my website. I’m Mathias – a Fynbo (from the Danish island of Funen), a gamer, an agile practitioner, and now a traveler of the world.

For many years I’ve wanted to see more of the world. Because it inspires me. Because it grows me. Because I love it. I’ve been building up to the bigger journey for a while now: a solo trip to New Zealand in 2024, South Korea with friends in the summer of 2025, and plenty of childhood memories from trips my parents took me on around the world.

By the end of 2025 the stars aligned, and a plan took shape. In February 2026 I traveled to Vietnam with a plan to be away for the next nine months, as a starting point – until Christmas 2026.

This site works as a diary for myself, but also for you, if you feel like seeing, hearing, and reading about life out in the world. Maybe I can help break down some of the walls keeping you from setting off yourself. Maybe I can just entertain you for a while.

My diary is called RoamingMinds. First and foremost because it was the best domain name I could find. Fortunately it also fits my reflective mindset quite well, which will probably be put to the test in the coming months.

You’re welcome to follow along. If you’d like to get in touch, you can reach me at mathias_ottosen@roamingminds.net.
